Bubblegum Runtz Strain
Bubblegum Runtz Strain is a legendary strain from the late 20th century (doesn’t that sound super old) that has been blowing minds with its tremendously sweet and sugary flavor – which is much like the actual bubble gum candy – since then. Runtz, conversely, is a relatively recent invention, but one that has taken to near legendary status in certain circles due to its highly complex and exotic flavor.
About The Strain
However, it’s more likely that a crafty and creative cultivator decided that he wanted to cross one of his most flavorful, long-refined Bubblegum specimens with Runtz to see if a new flavor powerhouse resulted. Or, maybe they were just bored and curious? Whatever the case and condition this specimen is quite spectacular and, I have to say, one of the best flavored Runtz crosses I’ve experienced recently.
Strain Favorable Profile
Typically there’s an amalgamation of so many tangy fruity flavors in a skunky wrapper that Runtz kind of confuses my palate. I know I like it, but I can’t really pinpoint why from a flavor perspective. In the case of this version, however, there are notes that let you know this is a sugary, bubblegum overlay upon the standard Runtz format for sure. Hello complex exotic palate!
Slight Effect Of The Strain
They’re beginning to ask whether I will say I prefer anything in the bong ever again, to which I say let the summer weather turn to fall and watch how much more I like my bong. In the meantime, roll this up, step outside, and enjoy some warm late summer nighttime air.
Common Sight Effects
That’s right, best to enjoy this connoisseur’s wet dream at night not just because it can make the stars just a little extra starry when you gaze up at them, but also because some seriously comfy couch-lock can occur rapidly. I’ll also say that this is probably not one for the newbies. It’s not going to be a bad experience, it’ll just most likely be one that’s highly sedative and mostly asleep.

I purchased my “bubble gum” from a coffeeshop in noord Amsterdam and I was told it was a full indica and not a hybrid, so I’m not sure if it was 100% the same plant that is described here but boy oh boy do I love this one. Super relaxing body high and head high that leaves you in a giggly sleepy state, appetite was also greatly increased. I can see this strain being used for multiple health issues and mental health issues. Highly recommended for beginners and seasoned tokers.

I haven’t tried the Bubble Gum strain in herb form in a while, but I recently picked up some Bubble Gum hash (kief puck) from Relief Choices of Warren.
The high is a definite creeper, coming on a good 10 minutes or so after smoking. Definite hybrid high from this one. Very cerebral and euphoric, but not energetic or very uplifting. Some good body buzz and back pain relief, but not completely lethargic. Very scatterbrained feel to it, I’m having trouble staying on track writing this review. It also makes me a little dizzy at times when it’s climbing up to its plateau.
The high lasts a good time, and the come down isn’t terrible but will leave you slightly groggy and wanting a sativa pick-me-up (I did at least).
Not my first choice for a morning smoke, but good for a lazy afternoon if you plan on relaxing and not doing anything too intense but don’t want to completely pass out on the couch for hours. If that makes sense.

I recovered from Phish tour by spending several hours a day for the entire month of August 1997 sitting on a stool at the Grey Area coffeeshop on Oude Leliestraat ripping tubes of the original double bubblegum with John and Steve. Good times. Interestingly it was named not for its flavor but because the breeder used to stick nugs under the bar like chewing gum to tip his bartender.

After a few more joint sessions with Bubble Gum, I can say that when breaking up the bud with your fingers ready for grinding, if you smell the broken bud, it has an intensely fresh sweet fruity smell very similar to Bubble Gum, hence its name.
Again, the head buzz is very strong but this is one of my favourites.

Looks: Medium-Dark green with red/maroon hue to the buds.
Smell: Sweet and fruity.
Taste: Similar to the smell – reminded me of unflavored “Hubba Bubba” or “Bubble Yum” gum.
Buzz Type: The buzz was a nice floaty cerebral buzz. Not much of the indica coming through – just a mellow trippy feel in your head.
Buzz Length: Medium – the buzz lasted for around 1.5 hours.
Overall: This is a nice, sweet tasting bud with a trippy cerebral buzz. Just a few bong hits left me pretty mellow, which must have been the indica part of the hybrid, but not really couch locked. The flavor really comes out in a joint or vaporizor even more than a bong, but it’s unmistakable regardless of the delivery method.

Had this in Amsterdam in Feb 2008. A group of us had some in a coffee house before we hit the nightlife. It gave everything a nice happy sparkle. Was perfect for the night as it got us on our merry way without trips, zonks or crashes.

Got this in Las Vegas. It is one of my new favorite strains. The group is Cannabiotix. The buds are long and sticky. It shimmers in the light, sweet perfection. If your a weed head looking for great flavor, this strain is for you. I have medical issues and am always looking at the terpenes, the Myrcene is high, which leads to better absorption on our part. When you first stick your nose deep in the jar and inhale, it smells like big league chewing gum or bazooka gum. I have a high tolerance, so for me if I smoke a little, I feel euphoric and relaxed, good for stress. If I smoke more, let’s say like a joint, get slight munches, great pain reliever; for muscles, joint, cramping, tension and calms your nervous system down. You can get couch lock if you smoke too much. This is also a great strain for insomnia problems or if you have restless leg issues. I give it five stars,this weed helps the entire body, lowers stress levels, pain reliever etc, taste is perfection, and a little goes a long way. Enjoy!

I think it smells really bad. The taste is better but i’ve had better ones. My strain was very dry and perfect to grind. The high came very fast and intensive but quickly ereased too. Perfect for a wake and bake high, because i became sober and ready for work after one hour. But this is also a negative point in my opinion. The high was good but neither great or boring.

I usually have pretty bad anxiety from weed, so a budtender in amsterdam (best friends coffeshop oost) recommended this strain for me. Tried in in low doses at first and it gave me nothing but pure calmness, relaxation, focus and just happiness from the inside. Body starts to feel a lil heavy and its perfect right before a nap. 3 1/2 stars for this strain, but voted up because it seems to always be around and not expensive. The taste and smell very similar to namesake with a sweet pink bubblegum flavor. The flavor does not maintain after a few tokes, but the indica effect does maintain consistency every time as does the flowers simple appearance. Small to medium buds that smoke well and do not come on heavy so is perfect for folks who prefer a lighter buzz that will creep into sleep within the hour. For a regular user of cannabis this strain is great for social use especially anxiety, slight pain relief, or just giggly moments with friends making happy memories.

I couldn’t smell the bubble gum, but I could definitely taste it on my lips lol. It being my first time smoking this strain, I can say that it makes my back pain lessen and my inner self more relaxed and happy. I really like it. All I have to say is, ‘Wow. Why didn’t I get this strain sooner?’ I picked this up and the gentleman budtender gave me a massive pre-roll of this (Which tonight I will be adding to this review), however looking at the bud you can get an initial grasp at the complexity of the strain. The bud is a medium-light green bud with medium-large flowers. It’s density is airy and kind of fluffy. The nose is wonderful. Like Bubble Gum, but more specifically, it smells strongly of Vanilla, berry, nutmeg and just an over all sweetness…and guess what…Yep, that’s exactly what the smoke tastes like. The smoke is VERY smooth and almost custardy. The effect was that of a great Indica for me, mixed with a light head high which worked in tandem with the Indica effects to become a more complex experience. VERY good strain. Will be following up.

Just smoked a J of the bubble gum. I noticed alot of great crystallization in the trichomes. It actually has slight undertones and the smell of real bubbleicious bubble gum. The taste gets a bit harsher as you smoke the second half of the Joint. In Overall you get a nice stoney head high, especially feeling heavy on the eyes, with an Indica presence lingering in the back. The taste of bubble gum becomes weaker in the end. Although I would def. smoke this strain again. This medicine most certainly helps me especially with my anxiety and depression! As a medicinal marijuana user, I have a nifty/trippy time in cerebral land on this strain. Even when fully rested. It doesn’t seem to allow your senses and emotions to scramble helplessly into the far off side involving fear, panic, stress at the first sight of ‘not getting a ‘feel'” for the buzz. It’s quite the COMPLETE opposite. It even opened up my sinuses! Terrific! Voilaa!! I used to use hash. But after this strain, having had smoked weed good, clean, kosher weed is the bum-ba-ta-ta-ta-ta-taaa!! Can really get in on the zone with this, but never completely lost. Almost just enough mind-drift to find the original task right back at hand. Like how I almost forgot what the heck I was doing writing a long ass review for and whyyy, but dam well so in a GREAAT way. Been a good while since I tokes a few and for this high. Looks: Like a forest green, lots of dark orange trichomes. Looks light and a little fluffy.
Smell: Strain name is very accurate, it smells exactly like bubble gum. Very sweet strong, sweet scent. [9/10]

The sativa high is great, but not over-powering. It’s a very creative, focused head-high. I completed an entire puzzle on it and painted myself. I suffer from a Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). High THC strains can give me some panic attacks that i would never wish to someone, or i can get really paranoid -knowing that high THC low CBD strains are not good for people that suffer anxiety disorders-. This strain, in particular, even if it’s a high THC one -which i was kinda worried when i tried it- gave me one of the best feelings that i have ever had. one time I actually asked my older brother for bubble gum and was confused when he handed me this strain instead of something to chew. he said, “let me show you the way” we smoked it. I felt sound. I could taste color. the snozberries tasted like snozberries. It numbs the body but not the mind. I felt focused, alert and creative. It does not make you sleepy. I did feel tingly like my muscles were being gently massaged. My lower back muscles get tight in knots and this really eased the pain by eliminating the spasms so I can get on with my day. I would recommend for daytime use.

Agree with the previous reviewer. Warning though: I’m still very sensitive to THC to the point two puffs on a Bubble Gum pre rolled made me already high. Smoking it after a busy work day also. It’s a quiet and meditative high for me, my body feeling somewhat heavy and very relaxed. My mind however stays active, sharp and insightful. Makes me sleepy too but maybe I’m too tired. Couldn’t see myself going party on it.

Bubblegum is my go to for many things. It’s an excellent strain for any time of day. I find it to be an excellent strain for using before my 2 hour massages. My massages are intense and somewhat painful. By taking a few hits of this before I can completely relax and let my therapist work out all my painful knots and tight fascia. I have Fibromyalgia and severe chronic pain. I’ll definitely be keeping this strain in my pain toolbox. And YES!!! It does taste like Bubblegum!!! Huge bonus!!
